Iris Bawidamann & Jürgen Engel

Iris dreams of a world where every person does what brings them joy and energy. Each of her offerings is a step in that direction. For her, the greatest appreciation is when participants‘ eyes light up because their daily lives have become easier, more connected, and more joyful through what they’ve experienced. In the past 25 years, she has led thousands of seminar days on local, national, and international levels. In addition to Nonviolent Communication and Living Compassion, participation and diversity are her passions. Jürgen’s lifeblood is seminars, the place where he thrives, feels alive, and can best celebrate and share his passion and enthusiasm for content and life. Over 500 seminar days in the past 15 years with Marshall Rosenberg, Robert Gonzales, and dozens of other trainers from around the world form the foundation of his training. Systemic counseling and therapy complete his holistic approach and perspective. For him, Nonviolent Communication primarily means a deep and authentic connection with one’s own vitality. Intense, non-judgmental awareness of one’s feelings and needs, along with powerful clarity and the ability to take action in everyday life.

How it all began: 40 people from many countries and continents gathered in a seminar house deep in the woods on a hill in Slovenia, sitting in pairs facing each other.

Many are tired, anxious, nervous: ‚What have I gotten myself into?‘ they seem to be asking themselves at 7:00 in the morning. I, Jürgen Engel, am one of them. The two Roberts, two teachers I completely trust, have fulfilled their life’s dream: a week in which anything can happen. A space where everything that arises has its place, and where life within us can blossom in its full beauty and intensity.

I have experienced hundreds of workshop days and dozens of retreats, so what could be new? What could inspire or surprise me?

And yet: What I will experience this week exceeds my wildest expectations, and I realize: THIS is what I want to bring into the world!

We are thrilled that Vesna Klemenčič Kuder has invited us to bring the Awakening to Life Intensive back to it´s cradle, Slovenia. More than 10 years after Robert Gonzales and Robert Krzisnik held it there for the first time ever.

6.5-Day Intensive Experience Retreat with Jürgen Engel & Iris Bawidamann

Are you familiar with the Dyad meditation process and want to take the next step, fully immersing yourself in presence, connection with your true self, and encountering life in all its beauty and intensity?
The Awakening to Life Intensive offers the opportunity to dive deeper and fly higher than you may have experienced in other formats and contexts.

Both of us, Iris and Jürgen, are deeply grateful that the founders of Awakening to Life Intensive, Robert Gonzales and Robert Krzisnik, passed on their wisdom, deep intentions, and experiences to us. As both have passed away, it is a great honor for us to continue this work.

It is extremely important and meaningful to us to honor both Roberts for their deep exploration of life and spirituality and for creating the Awakening to Life Intensive retreats. Many thanks to both for creating this friendship, sharing these gifts with us, and inviting us to join them on this journey!

We invite you on a journey where we will:

  • directly experience, feel, and simply „be“
  • embody our deepest authenticity
  • venture beyond head-centered thinking to reclaim our wholeness
  • experience and explore the mystery of existence in its uniqueness and depth

An Awakening to Life Intensive is a unique, one-of-a-kind experience and not for everyone. Therefore, we invite you to carefully read the following description and reflect on whether it is suitable for you:

What to expect from the Awakening to Life Intensive:

A fully experience-based retreat
The focus of the retreat is on direct experience, primarily through dyad work, but also through individual and group processes, including body movement and integration time in nature. The trainers will not be teaching but will primarily offer guidance and support.

Intensity and commitment
This retreat is held as a precious time for our deepest inner self. By ‘intensive retreat,’ we mean the following:

  • we will be working from 7:00 AM until about 10:00 PM;
  • We ask you to refrain from using the internet (including email and mobile phones) for the duration of the retreat unless absolutely necessary.
  • We invite you to maintain your intention during breaks and free time, focusing on the conscious exploration of your deepest authenticity (rather than engaging in conversations and casual socializing).
  • Each day follows a very structured and balanced schedule with a fine balance of intensity, relaxation, bodywork, and the integration of experiences and insights.

Accepting what is
This is not a self-improvement workshop where certain aspects of us are seen as needing change, repair, or healing. Participants will be continuously encouraged to experience and accept the whole, rather than moving from an ‚imperfect‘ state to a ‚better‘ one.

Courage and openness
This week can be challenging in many ways. You may sometimes feel tired and frustrated, in complete bliss and presence, or in any other state imaginable. Challenging, painful, and sad parts may surface and want to be seen, held, and integrated. Powerful, exciting, and wild parts may also emerge— all of life will be welcome. It’s not about constantly ‚feeling good‘ but about embracing whatever arises. You will need courage and a clear decision to fully commit to this process.
